Majority of of the phones on the market are running on the Qualcomm’s SoC, it is because they provide stellar performance in the all the market segments from Entry level to Flagship level devices. Qualcomm is the most trusted SoC developer for mobile devices because of the compatibility and reliable performance they offer. To further expand the legacy of Mid-Range SoCs they have launched successor to their previous previous SoCs Snapdragon 653, 626 and 427.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 653

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC  has been replaced by 653 which is said to be more powerful by 10% and the addressable memory is also doubled which means now it can support up to 8GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 653 has a new X9 LTE modem which brings significant improvement in upload and download, it also adds new features like VoLTE, Ultra HD Voice (EVS), WiFi 802.11ac MU-MIMO.. Further, it adds support for the latest Qualcomm’s Clear Sight dual camera technology which was previously only present on High end models. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 is manufactured under 28 nm process which supports Adreno 510GPU and LPDDR3 RAM, it has 4xA72 + 4xA53 cores clocked at  1.95Ghz + 1.2Ghz each respectively.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 626

The Snapdragon 626 also has some major changes inside. There is increment in performance up to 10%, just like 653 it also gets the new X9 LTE modem, support for dual camera, Bluetooth 4.2, USB 3.0. Like its previous generation, it also makes use of 8XA53 cores configuration clocked at higher 2.2Ghz each combined with Adreno 506GPU manufactured under 14 nm process.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 427

The biggest change in  Snapdragon 427 is inclusion of  X9 LTE model which previously was X6 LTE modem, this will bring substantial changes in downlink and uplink. This guy also has support of Clear Sight dual camera. The Snapdragon 427 has the same 4xA53 cores clocked at 1.4Ghz designed under 28 nm process and the same Adreno 308GPU.

There are few things in common on all of this SoCs like the support of Qualcomm’s Clear Sight dual-camera technology, new X9 LTE modem, Quick charge 3.0. Now with the dual camera support even on Mid-Range devices there might be serious changes on the image quality where they have failed to impress. The Quick charge support will also come handy because it can be charged faster.
