For those of you who stuck with the game, it looks like your patience has finally rewarded. “Pokémon Go” developer Niantic announced on Feb 15 that the mobile app would be adding 80-second generation Pokémon. The game which first released in July of 2016, has since seen a significant drop in popularity. In December, Niantic added a small number Pokémon from 1999’s second instalment of Pokémon. Otherwise known as second generation.
However, these Pokémon could only be hatched from eggs, as opposed to found in the wild. But now the game’s developer has confirmed that dozens of new Pokémon will soon pop up for those exploring the augmented reality game.
As for exactly when then-new Pokémon will appear, all Niantic had to say to TechCrunch was that they would appear “later this week.” Good luck out there trainers.
