With only 15 minutes of charging time, Qualcomm claims it could charge a telephone to half battery. This is achieved by improved Dual Charge Parallel Charging Technology (called “Dual Charge ++”) which is said to offer 20% quicker charging and 30% higher productivity at up to 5 degrees celsius cooler temperatures contrasted with Quick Charge 3.0, which is huge gain over previous generation.

A noteworthy centre for attraction if Quick Charge 4.0 has been on enhancing the safety and protection, with various extra layers of security added to prevent battery over-charging. Quick Charge 4.0 keeps a hefty part of the current components, such as, the 3 layers of over-voltage security, 3 layers of over-current assurance, and 4 layers of over-temp protection, and adds them with new elements, such as, the capacity to distinguish the quality and condition of the cables being used.

Quick Charge 4.0 has an ability to tell the quality of cable being use and adjust the charging current according to it. This fast charging technology will come with new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and the phone equipped with this SoC is expected to ship for consumers starting mid-2017.
