Xiaomi, one of the world-renowned Chinese Smartphone brands is surely one of the most loved brands in Nepal in a very short span of time. Mi A1 is one of the midrange flagship devices of Xioami Powered by Google with the tagline “Created by Xiaomi, Powered by Google”. This Device will be supported by Google for the next couple of years with major software upgrades. Just a Few weeks ago Xiaomi Launched the beta version of Oreo update to selected few users of Mi A1.
These new updates surely have many exciting things for users. With regular features of Oreo-like picture-in-picture mode, Autofill API & smart text selection, it also added a surprising feature of fast charging in the device. Xiaomi is not famous for using Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology despite having larger batteries. But this time Xiaomi has finally arrived with a Quick charge feature in Mi A1 in a recent update. Recent Beta users were able to get 100% charge in almost 92 minutes, which is about 30-35 min faster than the normal time. But the tester used One Plus Dash charger instead of the charger that comes with the device.
Almost many Xiaomi device doesn’t come up with fast charging support although they have compatible hardware. The reason behind this may be Xiaomi likely did not pay Qualcomm the license to use Quick Charge. But the scenario now is changed with Mi A1. There are no kernel sources released for the device yet. Hopefully, we’ll see the new stable Oreo upgrade roll out to the general consumer base soon with fast charging abilities added out of the box. Xiaomi has promised that new Oreo updates will be available out to all Mi A1 phones by the end of the year.
