New Nokia Android Smartphone Officially Revealed

The Brand that once dominated the entire phone market is back with their new phone – Nokia 6. After acquiring rights to the Nokia brand name last year, HMD Global just announced Nokia 6 the first Android Smartphone bearing Nokia brand.

The Design and form factor is not that exceptional but definitely reflects the modern design ethics, it is sculpted from a single piece of aluminium with a 5.5-inch screen. The Nokia 6 will run on Android as expected, and HMD Global has confirmed that it will have Android Nougat out of the box. Previously, Nokia Lumia range suffered from lack of application but now it won’t be the case as it is running on Android which has a wide range of applications available.

The Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch FullHD screen which is 2.5D curved. It is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of on-board storage which can be expanded via MicroSD card slot. It also has 16MP camera with phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), 1.0um sensor, dual-tone LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, Dolby Atoms audio and Fingerprint reader on the home button.

When people hear of Nokia one thing comes up in mind i.e. their hardware quality. With the use of Snapdragon 430, it is clear that they are going to compete in the mid-range market. This phone offering Dolby sound processing, fingerprint and promoting the use of aluminium uni-body in the mid-range handset… This all tie with the values people may expect from the Nokia brand name.

That said, The handset will go on sale early in 2017 and it will be available exclusively in China through a partnership with retailer JD.com. Although a date for public availability is not yet announced. Nokia 6 is priced at 1699 yuan ($245) which is about NRs. 24,500.
