Always On display making its way from Galaxy Note 7 to S7 and S7 Edge

The highly advertised feature of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now being available on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Samsung has recently stopped the production and sales of the Galaxy Note 7 due to uncontrollable explosion of battery. They said that they are permanently stopping the sales and it’s likely that the legendary Note series and this years flagship is dead.

Samsung had recalled devices but that didn’t work the explosion didn’t stop. Now they are offering money back or exchange for those people who had bought the Note 7. Samsung has face billions of loss and above all the Goodwill of the company is on danger. To compensate those losses Samsung is adding some features of Note 7 to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. On this process of inclusion of software features they have included the Always On Display to S7 and S7 Edge Via OTA Update.

Thanks to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge’s Super AMOLED display, this feature hardly consume any extra battery. According to the changelog posted by XDA-Developers, the Always On Display will consume around 1% of the battery per hour. This feature keeps the display on even when you turn off the display, a little area is lit up showing date, time battery level and notifications. This feature comes packed with a lot of controls and customization.

  1. You can manually find the update on Galaxy App Store
  2. You can go to Settings >> Display >> About Always On Display and tap on the Update button.

You can then activate it by going to notification panel and then clicking on Always-on display Or by going to Settings >> Display >> Always-on Display. After you activate it you can easily customize it according to your preference.

The failure of the Galaxy Note 7 has caused massive loss on their profits and Goodwill to compensate that, Samsung is releasing these small Software features to divert the customers to the flagship S7 and S7 Edge.
