Huawei with the launch of P20 and P20 Pro is going after Apple and Samsung seriously. These devices burrow some obvious features like a ‘notch’ on iPhone 10 and ‘super slow-mo’ video from Samsung Galaxy S9. But Huawei has taken a P20 and P20 Pro to a whole new level with the cameras as it has three of them in the back. Huawei P20 and Huawei 20 pro is mainly focused on cameras and has introduced a whole lot of features, as Huawei has seen camera innovation as a crucial part of P-series identity.

“We look for inspiration from artists to continuously evolve our approach to design and innovation,” said Richard Yu, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei Consumer Business Group.

Huawei P20 pro

Huawei P20 pro is the flagship of 2018, it is the first smartphone with three camera setup on the rear. which it boldly claims to be most advanced camera system till date. P20 pro has 6.1-inch FullView display with 2240 x 1080p resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is Huawei’s in-house manufactured HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC with an NPU backed by 128GB non-expandable storage as standard and 6GB RAM. Graphics are handled by Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. Huawei P20 Pro, Camera

Imaging department is where most of the exciting things have happened. P20 Pro is the first camera on its segment to house 3 cameras on the rear, in fact, Huawei P20 pro is the Megapixel beast counting all the four cameras three at the rear and one on the front it totals to 92 Megapixels. Clearly, the camera is the main highlight of the device. The rear camera consists of the 8MP telephoto + 40MP RGB + 20MP monochrome sensors which works together to capture some stunning looking pictures. This is the camera setup that scored highest on DxOMark. The 8mp telephoto leans has Optical image stabilization system and all of these sensor work together for you Bokeh fans out there as the longer focal length will let you capture those perfect portrait shots. The middle sensor, meanwhile, is a massive 40MP RGB sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and 28mm focal length- that’s the highest megapixel count we’ve seen on a single smartphone camera sensor since the Nokia Lumia 1020 way back in 2013. Finally, the bottom one is the 20Mp monochrome sensor with f1.6 aperture.

The major boot can be noticed on the low light performance of the P20 pro. Huawei has included an Artificial Intelligent System on camera that can help shoot handheld long exposure shorts up to 4 seconds. 3X Optical Zoom is possible now with the help of a tri-camera setup which will use all the 3 cameras on the back to capture pictures without compromising on the quality. All of the tasks are possible with the new system called AI processing System (AIS) and the new Color temperature sensor. The front-facing shooter is a single 24Mp sensor with all the features like Portrait mode, beautify, etc.

The fingerprint reader is mounted on the chin of the device and P20 pro is certified with IP67 water-resistant. It also has a notch on the top middle part which is smaller than the iPhone X but if you don’t like it don’t worry Huawei also has an option to hide it. Huawei P20 Pro is available on color options like Midnight Blue, Black, Pink Gold, Twilight.

Huawei P20

Huawei P20

It is the smaller version of the P20 pro. It is also equally as powerful as its elder brother. This device has a 5.8-inches FullView display with the same resolution and aspect ratio as on P20 Pro. Powering the device is the same processor and a stander 128GB storage but has lower 4GB RAM. Battery size has been slightly reduced to 3400mAh which is still impressive compared with Samsung’s latest flagship Galaxy S9. This device carries all the other features of its bigger brother P20 Pro.

On the Camera department, P20 might be underrated because it misses out one sensor but no way it gives tough competition to phones on this segment. On the rear P20 has 20MP monochrome and 12MP RGB dual camera setup. On the front is the same 24Mp sensor with all of the features of P20 Pro.

The HUAWEI P20 Series features a striking, fashion-forward aesthetic. Most notably, the HUAWEI P20 and HUAWEI P20 Pro come in all-new, exclusive, fashionable colors, Twilight and Pink Gold, achieved by applying several layers of NCVM* optical coatings underneath the glass back, so light hitting the surface refracts and creates a vivid, yet a gradual change of hue. The HUAWEI P20 and HUAWEI P20 Pro are also available in Black and Midnight Blue. Price of Huawei P20 pro is 1100$ and P20 is 800$.
