Xiaomi Mi 5s launched in China with one of its kind Fingerprint Scanner.

Xiaomi has been providing killer features at affordable prices. Yesterday on the launch event they came with their new phone Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus, which are the successor to the previous Mi 5.

The phone has one of its kind which new Ultrasonic Fingerprint reader. The Fingerprint Reader is underneath the glass of the phone and uses ‘Ultrasonic scanning’ to read the fingerprints when you apply pressure to it. Xiaomi says the fingerprint reader uses 10,000 “microseismic sensors” to read the unique 3D feature of your print.

Mi 5s has a 5.15-inches FullHD display with a 12MP ƒ/2.0 rear camera with PDAF and a 4MP ƒ/2.0 front camera. It houses a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC clocked at 2.15Ghz coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage options respectively. It has an aluminium unibody design with a brushed look and curved edges. The device is powered by a 3200MAh battery with quick charge 3.0 and a fingerprint reader on the front.

The bigger Mi 5s Plus has a 5.7-inch FullHD display with Dual 13MP rear camera and front 4MP camera which is the same as Huawei P9, one takes black and white pictures, and other captures color picture. Like Mi 5s it has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with higher RAM and storage options at 4GB/6GB and 68GB/128GB respectively. The power of the battery is increased to 3800MAh while the fingerprint reader is replaced on the back of the device.

The best part is pricing, Mi 5s is priced at US$ 299 for 3GB/64GB RAM/Storage and US$ 344 for 4GB/128GB RAM/Storage. The Mi 5s Plus will cost US$ 344 for 4GB/64GB RAM/Storage and US$ 389 for 6GB/128GB RAM/Storage. The color options include Gray, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold
