Xiaomi RedMi Note 3 to get Marshmallow treatment soon.

If you are the user of the Xiaomi RedMi Note 3 then we have good news for you. Xiaomi on their forum announced that they are testing Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Snapdragon version of the RedMi Note 3.

Xiaomi has released Android 6.0 update which is topped by their custom UI, MIUI 8. The ROM is based on a Global Beta Build version 6.9.9, which means the ROM is still being tested by the Beta Testers and might be some bugs that need to be fine-tuned. This update is only for the Snapdragon 650 variant of the Redmi Note 3.

Still, the new ROM is supposed to bring in a wide set of improvements, both cosmetic and with performance-wise, the early Beta adopters are mentioning of issues on the ROM. The Global stable ROM will be out as soon as the testing and fine-tuning is over.

redmi note 3To recall, The phone came with a 5.50-inch display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 403 pixels per inch. The powered department was handled by 1.4GHz Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor with 2GB/3GB of RAM, packed with 16GB/32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 packs a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 runs Android 5.1 and is powered by a 4050mAh non-removable battery and a FingerPrint reader.

However, If you want to take a look at the ROM then you can head over to the Xiaomi forum, to download the ROM and flash it to your device. But keep in mind that, if you are not a power user or don’t know the possible negative outcomes then stay away from it and wait for the Global stable update.

Latest Android Nougat is out. So, instead of releasing Marshmallow now, it would have been better if Xiaomi had provided Nougat by taking some more time.
