Apple unveiled the second-generation iPhone SE, a smaller and cheaper iPhone with the same processing power as the iPhone 11, on Wednesday. The iPhone SE has the same A13 Bionic chip as the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro and Apple stated that the efficiency of the processor in the SE is comparable and not scaled back for the more affordable version.

Now that people got used to bigger phones, the average has grown bigger. Apple has given an iPhone SE (2020) 4.7-inch Retina HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 750×1334 pixels, and True Tone technology to change the white balance, which is an LCD screen. It’s not like the iPhone 11 and iPhone XR on a Liquid Retina display.

One of the major differences between this new phone and Apple’s flagship iPhones is this new iPhone camera setup. For selfies, the rear camera of the iPhone SE is a single-lens 7-megapixel front camera, with an f/2.2 aperture. Included on the back of the latest iPhone is a single 12-megapixel camera sensor with an (f/1.8 aperture + OIS), along with a Slow Sync True Tone LED light. This supports up to 60fps of 4 K video recording, and photos with Smart HDR.

The iPhone SE 2020 connectivity options include a proprietary Lightning connector, WiFi 6, dual-SIM and e-SIM technology, Wi-Fi calling, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS and fast LTE. There is no headphone jack with 3.5mm. It also charges wirelessly and is capable of fast-charging via Qi technology. It supports fast charging and takes around 30 minutes to charge up to 50% with an 18W charger which is sold separately.

The Phone runs the new iOS software update, iOS 13. It also has an IP67 dust and water resistance rating. Like an iPhone 8, it looks like, the iPhone SE has built-in Touch ID home button. In addition, the iPhone SE 2020 comes in (PRODUCT) RED, Black and White color variants.

The iPhone SE starts at $399 with 64 gigabytes of internal storage and goes up from there 128GB and 256GB models are also available. The phone will be available to pre-order on the 24th of April before shipping.

Similarly, the price in India starts from Rs.42500 for the 64 GB variant. For the 128 GB and 256 GB option, the price is set as Rs 47,800 and Rs 58,300 respectively. However, the date for the sale is still not revealed.

The pandemic is expected to have a huge effect on Apple’s product launch plans. Sadly, prices for new iPhone SE 2020 models in Nepal have not been announced, nor is their availability for Nepal.
